Communication in Wholesale & Retail Environment

The course is based on the new SAQA-registered unit standards, NQF Level 2; 15 Credits:

  • Maintain and adapt oral/signed communication
  • Write/present for a defined context
  • Access and use information from texts

This program will provide you with the knowledge and skills you require to communicate in the workplace.

Entry Requirements: 

This qualification is aimed at individuals entering the sector for the first time, informal / business owners as well as within individuals working in entry level occupations in the sector.

Duration: 

Four days

  • Use language and communication skills effectively when interacting with colleagues and customers.
  • Interpret and understand written and oral communication correctly
  • Read, used and completed the various forms and reports that are required in the sales, service and
    administrative functions according to business requirements.
  • Organise and present information in a focused and logical manner
Workshop Methodology: 

Communication is an intensive training course where you will learn how to:

  • Answer the telephone and take a message
  • Interact with a colleague to solve a problem
  • Respond to the supervisor’s instructions
  • Present examples of completed work plans for a period of time
  • Answer questions about work procedures and/or conventions
  • Greet a customer and deal with complaints
  • Communicate with supervisors, managers and colleagues
  • Collect all the retail documents which are used in the store, explain what each one is used for and explain
    what is put in each section
Assessments: 

Will be conducted during the workshop by means of observation.

On completion of the workshop the learner will have to submit a portfolio of evidence for assessment.

On completion of the workshop: 

On completion of this learner guide you will be able to communicate appropriately while serving customers, both face-to-face and over the telephone. This programme will also help you improve your communication skills both with the people you work with and work for.
