Point of Sale

The course is based on the new SAQA-registered unit standard, NQF Level 2; 21 Credits:

  • Record transactions
  • Pack customer purchases at point of sales
  • Process payment at a point of sale

This program will provide you with the knowledge and skills you require to effectively apply point of sale handling procedures.

Entry Requirements: 

This qualification is aimed at individuals entering the sector for the first time, informal / business owners as well as individuals working in entry level within occupations in the sector.

Four days

Workshop Methodology: 

Interactive workshop to familiarise learners with concepts, processes and issues.

For final certification the learner will need to demonstrate his/her ability to carry out sales transactions. These include operating terminals, correct procedures for handling a range of payment methods, using the correct POS documents, and selecting and using the correct wrapping and packaging.

Assessments: 

Will be conducted during the workshop by means of observation.

On completion of the workshop the learner will have to submit a portfolio of evidence for assessment.
