➕ Why Their Work Matters
-
Botswana faces high rates of HIV/AIDS, affecting about 1 in 5 people in some areas. As a result, many children lose parental care, contributing to thousands of orphaned or vulnerable children nationally .
-
Around 160,000 children, with 120,000 orphaned by AIDS, live without parental care.
-
Poverty remains a challenge, with 16% of the population (often children) living below the poverty line.
SOS CV Botswana plays a critical role in addressing these issues through its holistic model: family care, community support, education, health services, and youth empowerment.
