
Associate Professor In Mechanical Engineering at BIUST
Job Description
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
– Work with colleagues on curriculum development and the advancement of the relevant discipline
– Deliver teaching over a range of modules within an established programme
– Undertake student tutoring and support
– Conduct individual research or work on collaborative projects
– Supervise students projects (both undergraduate and postgraduate levels)
– Source external and internal research funding from national and international donors
– Community engagement

Academic Qualification:
– A Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering or any related field from a recognized institution.
– The candidate must be registered with Engineers Registration Board (ERB) Botswana.
– The candidate must be registered with Botswana Qualifications Authority (BQA) as an Assessor and Moderator or eligible to register within one (1) year of assumption of duty.
Experience:
– Experience in teaching at tertiary level for at least 3 years
– A sustained and recent record of peer-reviewed publications and other research output over at least a six-year period (min. of 16 peer-reviewed publications of ISI journals / scopus or web of science indexed journals)
– Experience of obtaining external research funding
