Job Description
Main Purpose of the Job
The CEO, reporting to the Chairperson and the Board, will provide visionary leadership and strategic direction to drive sustainable growth and transformation of Botswana Sport. Responsibilities include policy formulation, strategy implementation, regulatory and governance oversight, and stakeholder engagement to position Botswana as a globally competitive sporting nation1.
Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic and executive leadership to align BNSC’s operations with national and international sport development mandates1.

Lead the development and implementation of national sport strategies and policies1.

Drive business development, commercialization, and infrastructure growth to ensure sustainability and reduce reliance on government subvention1.

Promote elite sport performance, recreational participation, and talent development1.

Champion corporate governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance1.

Lead the transformation of BNSC into a high-performance, inclusive, and digitally advanced organization1.

Foster productive local and international stakeholder relations to promote sport development1.
Qualifications and Experience
-
Degree in Sports Management, Business Management, Sport Science, or a related field1.

Master’s Degree in the same fields from a recognized institution; an additional qualification in Strategic Business Management is an added advantage1.

At least 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 7 years at executive management level in a reputable organization1.

In-depth knowledge of sport administration, business acumen, and proven leadership in managing large teams and budgets1.
