
Human Resource Specialist at Pulamed
Job Description
As part of the Principal Officer’s Office, the Human Resources Specialist will be responsible for coordinating and managing human resource systems/activities related to Pulamed staff. His/her duties will include managing the life cycle of Pulamed staff, including Recruitment and Selection, Employee Relations, Performance Management, Compensation and Benefits, Talent Management and Staff Wellness, reviewing HR related policies, implementing systems for managing staff benefits, payroll, and other responsibilities.
Key Performance Areas:

Develop, review, monitor and/or ensure implementation of HR related policies and procedures such as Performance Management, Recruitment and Selection, Staff Capacity Building, Disciplinary and Grievance Procedure and other HR related policies.

Assist the Executive Team with planning, budgets and reporting, including evaluating People & Culture results and trends.

Provide technical support for various HR-related activities to Unit and Department Managers and Supervisors as required.

Champion and promote change management process, contributing to building a culture of performance management across the Fund.

Working closely with the finance team and be responsible for ensuring that the HR inputs into the monthly payroll are correct.

Ensure gender and other relevant risk analysis for compliance, governance policies, process and standards, and external and regulatory requirements.

Inform all managers of key steps and risks to appropriate mitigation strategies in accordance with the overall risk management approach.

Develop, review or recommend best practice resource standards to be used within the Pulamed and develop the recruitment/resourcing skills and capacity of managers ensuring that the policies and procedures outlined in the Fund’s recruitment policy are adhered to.

Ensure all planned, new and timely communication to ensure employees’ understanding and buy-in on any Change Initiatives.

Maintain the staff establishment.

Any other duties as may be assigned by Management.
Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or any related field.
Experience:
-
Minimum of five (5) years post professional qualification experience in Human Resources.

Exceptional interpersonal skills and possession of teamwork orientation and ability to interact harmoniously and effectively with colleagues from diverse disciplines, perspectives and cultures.

Ability to make objective decisions and resolve problems, exercising the highest responsibility for handling confidential and sensitive workplace and mature reasoning.

Strong organisational, planning, scheduling skills, capable of handling large volumes of confidential work productively and without breaking several complex agendas.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, both oral and written, and proven ability to clearly convey your point across, adapt and defend ideas, findings, and recommendations.

Ability to represent the Fund in various executive, critical functions and challenging situations, with tact and emotional maturity without losing focus.

Computer literacy, including strong Excel, Outlook, internet search skills, PowerPoint, and the ability to learn new applications as needed.
