Job Summary
Reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator – Mechanical, the Lead Ropesman/Rigger will supervise and lead Rigger artisans in providing rigging services, planned preventative and breakdown maintenance on lifting equipment and conveyance systems. The position will also ensure the safe and efficient movement of materials and equipment using different techniques in lifting and rigging activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Conducting Inspections of lifting equipment
* Equipment maintenance planning and execution
* Rigging jobs coordination
* Project rigging support
* Analyse breakdowns/incidents to identify the root cause
* Safety, health and environmental compliance
Qualifications & Experience
* National Craft Certificate – Rigger & Ropesman or equivalent qualification.
* At least 6 years post qualification experience as a rigger and ropesman in a mining environment with at least 3 years at supervisory level.
* Class B Driver’s License.
