Job Description
Job Summary
Reporting to the Mining Manager, the Mine Captain is responsible for the overall management of underground mining operations The position oversees the day to day activities ensuring safety, personnel management and compliance with applicable laws, regulations and standards.

• Production planning, scheduling Resource allocation/management
• Legal Compliance
• Production Reporting
People effectiveness
• Safety, health and environmental compliance
Qualifications & Experience
• Diploma or Degree in Mining Engineering or related filed.
Minimum of 8 years’ post qualification experience in an underground mining environment, with at least 3 years at supervisory/management level.
• Thorough knowledge of mining methods and procedures, relevant legislation and general management principles;
• Valid Underground blasting license
