Botswana Housing Corporation is a parastatal under the Ministry of Water and Human Settlement with mandate to provide for the housing, office and other building needs of the government and local authorities. The Corporation is inviting candidates with proven strong business acumen and impeccable integrity to apply for the following position:
Officer, Projects Quality Assurance (1)

(Permanent, 1 Position in Kasane)

Purpose of the role

To assist management in ensuring all property developed by, or on behalf of the Corporation, is compliant with Corporation’s and other set professional requirements. The role holder is responsible for, inter alia, assisting in the development of the Corporation’s quality control standards and related documents, and the monitoring and inspection of properties during and after the construction stage.
Minimum Position Requirements

Qualifications

* A Diploma/Degree in Building Construction or related Engineering fields.
* Must be a member of a Registered Professional Body and have a valid Practicing Certificate.

Experience

* Minimum of three (3) years post-qualification experience in building construction or related fields.

Principal Accountabilities

* Participates in formulating, executing, reviewing and updating of the Corporation’s standards.
* Implements the BHC’s Quality Control/Assurance programme and monitors its progress.
* Contributes to the development of Quality Assurance procedures and standards.
* Assesses project requirements, confirms quality requirements of materials and products and that are being procured are aligned to drawings, specifications, construction standards and compliance with all relevant statutory standards.
* Coordinates the Quality Assurance work schedule, inspection schedule and ensures that all properties undergo inspections at all key project inspections.
* Reviews queries relating to the interpretation of SLAs and makes recommendations to management in the imposition of penalties and other corrective actions where necessary.
* Assesses and recommends for appointment of contractors for the implementation of projects and processes.
* Conducts quality audits before and after a contractor.
* Monitors compliance with SLAs, efficacy of processes, systems and procedures to ensure efficient delivery of quality to meet customer satisfaction expectations.
* Creates, updates and maintains project data and all other project-specific quality control reports.
* Performs such other duties as directed by the supervisor.
