TEMPORARY ACCOUNTS OFFICER X 1 (12 MONTHS)

Reports to: Senior Accounts Officer

About us

The Construction Industry Trust (CITF) is a Joint Project between the Ministry of Higher Education and the Construction and skills Industry of Botswana. It operates from an established Training Institution situated in Gaborone, Botswana. Our aim is to provide the skills Industry with locally trained, competent manpower in order to maximise use and engagement of Botswana Citizens on all skills and construction projects.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Motswana citizen to join our Accounting and Finance team and to ensure smooth accounting and financial operations as Temporary Accounts Officer.

Key Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions accurately and on time.
• Maintain and reconcile ledgers, bank statements, and other financial records.
• Handle payroll, tax filings, and compliance reporting.
• Assist in preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Ensure compliance with tax laws and statutory reporting requirements.
• Support in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Maintain proper filing and documentation of financial records.
• Assist in audit preparation by providing required documentation and schedules.
• Work closely with other departments to ensure accurate financial data capture.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and relevant statutory requirements.
• Proficiency in accounting Sage300 software and MS Excel.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Supervisory experience is an added advantage

SALARY SCALE: CITF Band 10/9 (130 128 – 181 020.00) per annum
