Jwaneng Town Council is mandated to deliver quality socio-economic development services and environmentally sustainable Municipal infrastructure through effective local governance for improved lives of Jwaneng Community

 

 

Applications are invited from suitably qualifying Botswana Citizens for the below mentioned post which is tenable in Jwaneng.

 

 

VACANCY CIRCULAR NO. 44 OF 2025

VACANCY: Principal Accountant I

SALARY: D2 (P337 008 – P371 628) per annum

LEAVE: 30 working days per annum.

QUALIFICATION: Degree in Accounting /Finance or related field.

REQUIREMENT: Applicants should have registered with Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants and in Good Standing.

EXPERIENCE: Ten (10) years relevant work experience of which 2 years should have served as Principal Accountant II or equivalent.

BENEFITS:
i) Optional contributory medical aid (Government contributes 50% and employee 50%)
ii) Contributory pension (Government contributes 15% and employee contributes 5% of basic salary)

 

 

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

 

 

  • To coordinate, manage and direct the Treasury Division.

 

 

DUTIES

 

 

  • Manages and directs the Treasury Division to ensure prudent financial management adherence to the statutes.

  • Provides professional advice and guidance on financial accounting and budgeting to key stakeholders.

  • Provides vigilant supervision to spending department to promote efficient and economic financial order.

  • Develops and supervises implementation of internal controls to ensure sound management of financial resources in accordance with financial regulations and policies.

  • Undertakes any other related duties as directed by management.
