The Financial Intelligence Agency is an Agency of Government responsible mainly for the production and dissemination of financial intelligence to relevant authorities to combat money laundering, terrorist and proliferation financing and other financial crimes. The Agency is also responsible for ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Financial Intelligence Act by Specified Parties and Accountable Institutions.

VACANCY: PRINCIPAL LEGAL AND COMPLIANCE OFFICER
SALARY: D2 (P337,008 – P 371, 628 per annum)
Leave: 30 working days per annum.
Benefits: i) Optional contributory Medical Aid Scheme (Government pays 50% and Employees pay 50%).

Qualifications:
Candidates should have Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Economics/Statistics/ Data Analysis/Law or any other related field of an accredited university. A Master’s will be an added advantage.
Experience:
A minimum of ten (10) years’ post qualification work experience, two (2) years of which must have been served as Compliance Officer II on D3 salary scale or equivalent. Experience in any of the following fields is a requirement:
• Strategic Management.
• Business Analysis.
• Research.
• AML/CFT/PF Assessors’ Training.
• Financial Intelligence Agency/Protecting the Integrity of Botswana’s Financial System.
Main Purpose of the Job:
Reporting to the Director General, the incumbent will be responsible for coordinating the implementation of the Agency’s annual work plan, stakeholder management and taking administrative tasks to improve operational efficiency.
Duties:
• Assist in the formulation and implementation of AML/CFT/CPF policies.
• Assist in the formulation of AML/CFT/CPF policies and implementation of policies and legislation.
• Work closely with the strategy team to ensure effective monitoring and tracking of strategic initiatives.
• Coordinate projects and external reports with relevant business units.
• Develop, implement, disseminate and ensure accountability across the business.
• Prepare reports that assist Executive decision making.
• Assist in the implementation of the AML/CFT/PF national strategy and AML/CFT/PF inter-sectoral policies.
• Conduct research on latest trends on typologies in the AML/CFT/PF field.
• Undertakes any other related duties as assigned by management.
