Botswana Development Corporation is looking for dynamic, zealous, and qualified individuals to submit applications for the following position.
Operational Risk and Compliance Manager
Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, you will organise and manage the Corporation’s operational and compliance risk activities including risk identification, assessment, monitoring, reporting, as well as compliance training, investigations and audits to identify early warning signs of operational risk and non-compliance to protect the interests of BDC and its subsidiaries.
You will also be expected to evaluate and provide assurance that risk management, control and governance systems are functioning as intended for the corporation’s operational and strategic objectives to be met.
You are to also prepare the compliance reports/returns to Regulators, Board, Management and various Committees at regular intervals, or as required.
You will also assume responsibility for ensuring that the Corporation’s policies and procedures are in line with international standards and FATF recommendations and develop and maintain an adequate and effective corporate governance structure as it relates to money laundering control, as well as the co-ordination of the overall money laundering control.
You will also be expected to submit detailed reports on areas reviewed, findings and appropriate recommendations for improvement to the Board, Executive Management and Chief Risk Officer, develop and implement processes aimed at ensuring that all service providers are vetted prior to conducting business with the Corporation.
Qualifications
The candidates should have a minimum of three (3) years’ risk management experience at supervisory or senior risk officer level with responsibility for operational and compliance risk in a medium to large enterprise, preferably in the financial services sector with demonstrated experience in planning, developing and implementing operational and compliance risk management plans. Facilitating risk identification, assessment, analysis, monitoring and learning.
The candidates should have Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business or related area, a professional risk qualification from an internationally recognised institute would be an added advantage.
