Jindal Mmambula Energy Project, part of US 22 billion O P Jindal Group holds Mining License for about 3 billion tonnes of coal in the East Mmambula Coal Fields. The company has plans to carry out initially mining of 4.5 million tonnes per annum of coal and to set up a 600 MW power plant at Mmambula, along with the related infrastructure works. Jindal, on behalf of all the companies under the group, intends to have a strong group presence in Botswana and to contribute substantially in nation building through job creation and community development. JOB TITLE: SENIOR TOOL KEEPER JOB CODE- IA

 

 

We are looking for an experienced Senior Tool Keeper to manage and oversee all tool control operations at a thermal power plant construction project. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in tool management, preservation, and coordination within large industrial or power plant environments.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

 

  • Maintain and control a large inventory of tools using manual systems (logbooks, registers, tagging).
  • Prepare and inspect tools for major construction works such as turbine, generator, boiler, and piping installation.
  • Supervise tool distribution, preservation, and maintenance under challenging site conditions.
  • Lead a small team of tool keepers and coordinate with contractors and engineers.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and tool accountability across all shifts.

 

 

Qualifications & Experience:

 

 

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in tool management within thermal power plant construction.
  • Strong practical knowledge of tool preservation, inspection, and field coordination.
  • Ability to work independently in demanding physical environments.
  • Proven leadership and communication skills.
