Jindal Mmambula Energy Project, part of US 22 billion O P Jindal Group holds Mining License for about 3 billion tonnes of coal in the East Mmambula Coal Fields. The company has plans to carry out initially mining of 4.5 million tonnes per annum of coal and to set up a 600 MW power plant at Mmambula, along with the related infrastructure works. Jindal, on behalf of all the companies under the group, intends to have a strong group presence in Botswana and to contribute substantially in nation building through job creation and community development. JOB TITLE: TECHNICAL OFFICER – SYSTEMS & DOCUMENTATION | JOB CODE- IA (3 POSITIONS)

 

 

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Technical Officer to support the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of multiple plant system packages. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with technical documentation, system coordination, and vendor communication in an industrial or power project environment.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

 

  • Handle and oversee system packages such as:
    • Public Address System, MIS LAN System, CCTV System, Wireless System, Documentation Systems
  • Fire Detection and Protection System (FDPS)
  • Review and interpret technical documents, data sheets, and working manuals.
  • Coordinate with service providers during installation, commissioning, and handover of assigned packages.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and troubleshooting of all related systems.
  • Maintain documentation and records for all project packages.
  • Support the execution of new system installations such as Ash Handling, Coal Handling, and Water Treatment Systems in collaboration with the project team.
  • Ensure compliance with company and industry standards during all project phases.

 

 

Qualifications & Experience:

 

 

  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related Engineering field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in handling system packages for industrial or infrastructure projects.
  • Working knowledge of installation, commissioning, and maintenance procedures.
  • Proficiency in documentation, reporting, and coordination with vendors and contractors.
  • Familiarity with SAP or other project management tools will be an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
