  4. TAILINGS SUPERVISOR
  5. TAILINGS OPERATORS (FILTRATION / DAM)

The positions are based at the Mine Site located between Maun and Sehitlwa in Ngamiland. To be successful, you must enjoy getting out on site and have the enthusiasm, and interest to work in a remote location, as well as deliver in a multicultural work environment. TAILINGS SUPERVISOR

 

 

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:

 

 

The Tailings Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating shift works on tailings storage facility and ensuring adequate resources are available to meet optimal tailings deposition as per MMG operation standard.

 

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

 

Your key accountabilities include:

 

 

  • Supervising and coordinating daily tailings operations, ensuring adherence to the TSF Operating Manual, safe work practices, and MMG tailings standards.
  • Monitoring tailings deposition, return water systems, pipelines, pumps, and overall equipment utilization to maximize performance and reduce downtime.
  • Inspecting TSF infrastructure including embankments, discharge points, and drainage systems and reporting defects or irregularities promptly.
  • Liaising and collaborating with Process Plant, Maintenance, Environmental, Engineering teams, Deputy RTFE and geotechnical consultants to align operations with production, safety, and compliance goals.
  • Maintaining accurate shift records, inspection reports, incident logs, and documenting tailings management activities
  • Leading safety meetings, toolbox talks, and daily planning sessions to promote SHEC standards and operational excellence.
  • Providing on-the-job training, coaching, and mentorship to operators to build skills, knowledge, and morale, enhancing productivity and performance.
  • Supporting emergency preparedness and response efforts related to TSF operations.
  • Participating in audits, inspections, and external reviews to ensure TSF safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Implementing and supporting the site’s Tailings Management Plan and environmental monitoring programs, including the safe disposal of tailings material.

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:

 

 

  • BGCSE
  • A minimum 4+ years of experience working on TSF operations, experience on Upstream operation is added advantage.
  • Minimum of 2 years as a Team Leader
  • Knowledge of standards related to Tailings
  • Strong grasp of SHEC standards and regulatory frameworks.
