The positions are based at the Mine Site located between Maun and Sehithwa in Ngamiland. To be successful, you must enjoy getting out on site and have the enthusiasm, and interest to work in a remote location, as well as deliver in a multicultural work environment. 1. STORAGE LEAD

 

 

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:

 

 

The Storage Lead is responsible for overseeing the storage, inventory management, and distribution of materials, equipment, and supplies required for mining operations. This role ensures efficient storage operations while maintaining compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.

 

 

CORE DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE:

 

 

• Establishing and ensuring safe handling and storage of hazardous materials, enforcing safety protocols, and mitigating environmental risks across warehouse operations.
• Managing waste disposal procedures, preventing contamination, and maintaining environmentally responsible storage practices aligned with company and regulatory standards.
• Supporting ethical sourcing, minimising disruption to surrounding communities, and upholding commitments made through community agreements.
• Monitoring stock levels, conducting regular audits, and ensuring accurate tracking through inventory management systems.
• Applying best practices to optimise warehouse layout, maximizing efficiency, and maintaining orderly storage of equipment and consumables.
• Overseeing the movement, storage, and dispatching of mining equipment, chemicals, and supplies in a safe and efficient manner.
• Ensuring warehouse operations comply with SHEC, procurement, and company policies, including regulations on hazardous materials and reporting standards.
• Liaising with procurement and vendors to coordinate deliveries, monitor lead times, and ensure timely stock replenishment.
• Leading the warehouse staff, providing safety and systems training, and promoting a culture of operational excellence and accountability.
• Maintaining detailed records of inventory transactions, discrepancies, and audits; delivering routine reports to management on warehouse performance.

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field
• Logistics, Supply Chain or Warehousing certification is beneficial.

 

 

Minimum Experience and Knowledge:

 

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in storage, inventory, or warehouse management, preferably in mining or industrial sectors.
