Position Overview:

 

We are looking for a results-driven and highly experienced Project Manager with a minimum of 15 years of experience in managing large-scale civil engineering / building projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for end-to-end project lifecycle management—from planning to execution—ensuring timely delivery, cost control, and compliance with regulatory and safety standards.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

– Plan, organize, and execute construction projects from inception to completion.
– Develop project schedules, budgets and resource allocation.
– Manage project meetings and drive problem resolution.
– Liaise with clients, consultants, engineers, site supervisors, contractors, government bodies etc.
– Monitor progress, risk, and project milestones.
– Ensure compliance with contract terms, building codes, and safety regulations.
– Lead project planning and resource allocation (labour, materials, equipment).
– Resolve project issues and adhere to construction schedules and budgets.
– Ensure timely completion and handover to construction owners.
– Resolve any unexpected technical issues or delays onsite.
– Ensure adoptions and adherence to international construction standards.
– Oversee project documentation tasks, material procurement lists, and timelines.

 

 

Qualifications and Experience:

 

– Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
– Minimum 15 years’ experience in managing large-scale civil engineering or building projects.
– Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
– Registration with a recognized professional engineering or construction body (ERB) is an added advantage.
– Postgraduate qualifications in Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) will be a distinct advantage.
– Certification in Health and Safety (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH) is desirable.

 

 

Key Skills and Competencies:

 

– Strong leadership and team management capabilities
– Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills
– Advanced knowledge of construction contracts (FIDIC, JBCC, etc.)
– Proficient in MS Project, Primavera P6, and project cost control tools
– Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities
– Strong commercial awareness and risk management skills
– Excellent communication and client relationship management
– Ability to work under pressure and handle conflict
