We are seeking an experienced Head Miller to lead our milling operations and ensure the production of high-quality products. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of milling, optimise efficiency, maintain compliance with food safety and occupational health standards, and manage a team of millers and support team.

THE JOB

• Ensure maximum output on all mills daily, achieving design capacity and set production targets.
• Uphold company/group quality standards, taking prompt corrective action when deviations are identified.
• Conduct monthly routine maintenance of milling equipment to ensure smooth operations.
• Compile and submit production performance reports accurately and on time.
• Provide effective people management, including supervising, training, and motivating the milling team.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, Food safety, health, and environmental compliance, adhering to company policies and procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing practices, to enhance operational efficiency.

THE REQUIREMENTS

• Maintain mill extractions according to daily extraction targets.
• Qualified miller with SAGMA Advance Milling certification.
• Computer literacy essential especially SAP.
• Proven experience in milling operations, preferably in a supervisory or management role.
• Strong technical knowledge of milling processes, equipment, and quality standards.
• Leadership and team management skills, with experience managing shift operations and working with unionised teams.
• Knowledge of food safety standards (e.g., FSSC2200, ISO9001:2015) and occupational health regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, planning, and organisational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
