SENIOR LECTURER – COMPUTER NETWORK ENGINEERING

(3 YEARS FIXED TERM CONTRACT POSITION)

The Institute of Development Management (IDM) Invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the position of Senior Lecturer tenable at its Francistown Campus. We are seeking a self-motivated, dynamic and committed academic professional who is passionate about teaching, consultancy work, research, and contributing to academic excellence within a vibrant learning environment.

• Registration with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) will be considered an added advantage.

EXPERIENCE

• A minimum of five (5) years teaching experience as a lecturer in Computer Network Engineering at college or university level.

• Have demonstrable evidence of conducting independent academic research.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Lecturer will be responsible for dissemination of technical knowledge and expertise in the Computer Network Engineering programme field by means of teaching as required, delivering professional training, engaging in consultancy assignments, and conducting applied research aligned with the institution’s mandate.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare materials and lectures on scheduled IDM courses for own and other departments.

• Develops, designs and delivers non-scheduled courses and training programmes

• Develops course documents and assessment criteria based on approved Quality Systems

• Develops new courses and products in line with identified trends and client needs.

• Management Consultancy and Applied Research

• Responsible for Course Administration, Moderation and Assessment

• Undertake any other relevant duties as required by the Supervisor
