GENERAL MANAGER – DISTRIBUTION CENTER (DC) OPERATIONS

Location: Sefalana Fresh Produce (Pty) Ltd
Industry: FMCG / Logistics / Supply Chain
Employment Type: Full-Time | Senior Leadership Role

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

a. Lead and manage day-to-day operations across all DC functions, including warehousing, inventory management, order fulfillment, transportation, and last-mile delivery.
b. Ensure timely and accurate dispatches to meet customer service level expectations.
c. Develop and implement operational strategies to improve cost efficiency, productivity, and safety.
d. Lead continuous improvement initiatives including automation, layout optimization, and systems enhancement.
e. Manage and mentor large teams, including supervisors, warehouse staff, and logistics personnel.
f. Ensure full compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
g. Monitor KPIs and performance metrics to identify trends, resolve issues, and report progress to executive leadership.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

a. Minimum 15 years’ experience in logistics, warehousing, or supply chain operations
b. Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership role managing large-scale DCs (preferably in FMCG or high-volume sectors)
c. Strong experience in warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory control, and distribution technology
d. Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA preferred)
e. Proven ability to manage complex operations, large teams, and high-throughput facilities
f. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
g. Results-driven, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction
